Sky vip The Athletic subscription offer

Received a sky vip rewards email which includes a free 12 month offer for The Athletic.

When I click on the link it takes me to the My Sky homepage but I can't spot the offer in amongst any of the offers there.

Has anyone been able take up the offfer? If you have could you point me in the right direction please?

It worked fine for me

I'm sure you need to have Skysports to get the Athletic offer.

if you do have Sports, go to the MySky app, click on VIP and then you should see a "skysports reward" tile

Click on that and for me, the Athletic offer was there

I have the same problem, I tried yesterday and tried again today. But I can't see any "SkySports Reward" option in the VIP section of the app.

I did notice that if I view the email from Sky on my phone there is a "Head to Sports Rewards" button under the Athletic offer but on my desktop PC that button isn't there. Strange.

But as I say, in the App on my phone, I go tot he VIP section and there is no sports section, no mention of the Athletic offer. I have had Sky Sports for years.

Any ideas?

@PAB05 If you open the My Skip app, click on VIP and scroll down to the Rewards For You Section, the Sky Sports Rewards tiles should display. Note that it may not be the first tile visible so you may been to scroll right to see it ( you should see a little number next to Rewards For You which will show how many tiles you can scroll between in that section).

I was looking for something with The Athletic logo, I didn't realise you had to tap the Sport Rewards tile first.

No worries - the Sky VIP UI was overhauled several weeks ago, and it's not necessarily that intuitive to know to scroll right on each section.

If I don't see this section still under the regards for you how can this be resolved? Have tried calling but am just transferred from one department to another

Do you have Skysports ?

When you go to the MySky app and then the VIP section - do you see a tile named "Sky Sports Rewards" ?

click on that

On my iPhone (within MySky / VIP) the tile looks like this.

For ticket related VIP questions there is an email address

support at skyticketit.com

no spaces and use the @symbol

that might not be quite right for you but either they might point you in the right direction or perhaps another Sky customer might have a better email address for you. @caesarome - do you know of a better email address ?

I have had Sky Sports for years.

In the Sky Sports Rewards there are many offers... but not The Athletic Offer which appeared in my Sky email?

Any ideas?

@Grandpa - it should be listed under "Fan Offers" in the Sky Sports Reward section.

I clicked that and only saw match ticket offers... but now The Athletic has suddenly appeared!

Thank you.. as I probably wouldn't have gone back and checked again... I guess they must have sent the email before updating it for me...

I got my code through SKY VIP app but it does not work and now says has already been used.

Could this be because I had a trial back in 2021?

I have an existing account from 4 years ago, no longer a subscriber.

I went though My Sky VIP have a code and it says it's already been used. I assume this was the time I initially used it 2 weeks ago....but I have no subscription according to The Athletic. I'm just confused. How can it have been used but I have no subscription?

It worked for me in the sense I seem to have redeemed the 'token' but it tells me I need to pay for content. Frustrated.
