topic Unsolicited refund, 14 months after leaving Sky in Account & Billing

I have received notification of a £10.84 refund this this morning, despite the fact that I left Sky 14 months ago, and have no products from them.

my first thought was that it was a Phishing thing, but I was able to log int My Sky, and the same message is in the message box there too. So it has definitely come from Sky.

I made no contact with Sky at all.

I'm loathed to spend a morning talking to India about this, as I simply don't have the time. Plus know the fact I don't currently have any services or account is going to create a "computer says no" scenario that takes ages to resolve.

Does anyone have an idea what this might be, or why I might have recieved it?

Sky does periodically review closed accounts that are left with a credit balance. Because of the way Sky and other providers charge in advance, it's not uncommon for, customers to pay beyond the date their services end. Normally the overpayment is automatically refunded via your bank or card, but occasionally it appears not to happen, hence the message you've received.
