August 25 Increases

I am seriously fed up with above inflation price rises. As a pensioner on a fixed income, this seems little more than extortion. It looks as if I might have to shift again.

Unless you’ve recently changed your subscription, prices increase due to either the annual price increase (April in the UK), your discounts have ended, or a combination of the two.

Sky will have told you the date any discount was ending when you took it out so if it has ended you’ll be paying the full undiscounted price.

Perhaps compare a previous bill to your latest bill and see where the amounts differ

If you’re no longer in a discounted minimum term, or its ending soon the best new discounts are normally acquired by calling Sky and negotiating or potentially amending your package which will now require a 24 month minimum term contract. Sky are not obliged to offer you another discount, and recent posts on here indicate that significant discounts are now harder to come by. If you’re offered something acceptable be prepared to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer may no longer be available when you call back.

I renegotiate my tv contract in February this year on a 24 month contract and i had no price increases in April but i have price increases in August coming in to

Phoned and ask why and was told these are the April price increases but because I got a new contract in February that's why they are being added in August

That makes a little sense as my contract was renewed in February.

That's most likely it then. I would expect your increase next year to revert back to April.

@Bill_P Sky also base the price rise on the full price of your viewing package, not on the discounted price you may be paying whilst in contract.

I am fed up with it, as a Pensioner, every penny matters.

As Sky do not have the expense of covering live football during the close season, should the price of Sky Sports not be reduced accordingly ?

I get that, but Football is what i have it for, it is the national sport.

I watch the football and F1, so the summer is never sport free for me!
