Sky charges increased a lot - No explanation. Why?

My charges have gone up from around £100 to £110 and on the latest bill £126.47 without any explanation of what this was for. Why did it go up at all? My attempts to reach an actual person have been channelled to places that have not addressed this. How can I reach a real person who can tell me what is happening?

There was a price rise this month of which you should have been sent a letter about and you might have had a discount on your account that is ending or has ended so what does next months bill show that you will be paying ?

Unless you’ve recently changed your subscription, prices go up for either the annual price increase (April in the UK) or when your discounts have ended (or a combination of the two).

Sky will have told you the date any discount was ending when you took it out so if it has ended you’ll be paying the full undiscounted price. Perhaps compare a previous bill to your latest bill and see where the amounts differ

If you’re no longer in a discounted minimum term, or its ending soon the best new discounts are normally acquired by calling Sky and negotiating or potentially amending your package which will now require a 24 month minimum term contract. Sky are not obliged to offer you another discount, and recent posts on here indicate that significant discounts are now harder to come by. If you’re offered something acceptable be prepared to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer may no longer be available when you call back.
