Hi, I suspect many have had this issue. My contract for tv, broadband started in 2023 at approx £44, it has increased right up to £88 ( 200% of original contract price).

Back in 2023 Sky was offering broadband at 'half price until the end of the year' (which then reverted to full list price rather than the regular in-contract discount). If you inadvertently signed up for that offer, the subsequent significant increase would be rather more explicable.

I'd note that £44 for Sky Signature and broadband isn't actually a sustainable price for the supplier: it's just barely possible with the new Essential TV bundle.

Hi, I suspect many have had this issue. My contract for tv, broadband started in 2023 at approx £44, it has increased right up to £88 ( 200% of original contract price). I've contacted Sky several times about this and responses range from being fobbed off to incredibly rude and mildly threatening ( action that will be taking if I try to end contract without paying last few months etc). I even got told my a lovely person called Mackenzie to ' go ahead and nake a complaint about me, it will go nowhere, as I'll be handling the complaint!'. His are sky getting away with this?. I've been a loyal customer for about 15 years and they couldn't care less!

Bills wouldn't go for £44 to £88 unless in-contract discounts have ended. You can then cancel.

And I would suggest you should unless you can agree a new in-contract (Now 2 years, not fixed price) deal you're happy with.

I was told I can't cancel until my full contract is up in July- or I would have immediately. I was told these are standard price increases and also the initial discount I received does not last the whole length of the contract

So a subscription started in 2023 probably had an 18 month discount period in which case that will have expired or is ending soon. If that's the case you need to negotiate a new deal which will now involve a 24 month minimum term.

Correct. The latest T’s and C’s explicitly state you can’t cancel when still in a minimum term deal unless Sky agree. If they agree you’ll have to pay the remainder of your discounted term.

I've been told I'm stuck with this contract until it expires in July and cannot renegotiate. I will be cancelling Sky in July, it's just extremely frustrating handing over so much money to such an ignorant company in the mean time

Yes, I'm aware of this, the source of my frustration is a company that lied to me at the start of that contract, by saying there would be no significant increases. The increases began well before the 18 month term was up also

I'd call a 100% increase significant ( and that includes scaling back what was in my original package ). It looks like it's a case of sucking it up until July, when no doubt Sky will attempt to harass me incessantly to commit to another contract. No one needs to watch Yellowstone that badly , lol
