Can I get sky now and take with me when I move soon. Currently Virgin contract ending

You can move Sky with you to new homes. If you're having satellite TV you'll need that to be reinstalled at your new address normally, which will take some coordination with Sky.

If you're using streaming TV there's no real setup needed, just take it with you and change your address on MySky I believe.

Can you still record programmes on sky stream please?

No. You add shows to your playlist and they play from the various apps. Some shows such as live TV record in the cloud for you, but most will play from IPlayer, ITVX etc.
