Customer scam calls - Sky are these being investigated as they're getting all our details somehow?

Got a call today. No name or company details. Said can give me a Sky discount. I said we're not with Sky yet and they hung up. I called back to check his name & company details. Said bad customer service as well and he acknowledged this and hung up.

The number is via (removed) and they're scammers. However we've not even started my Sky contract yet so we're undecided whether to keep or cancel Sky now if they've got our details from here.

The MO is sequential line calling and they find 'customers' by accident.

I get all sorts of calls from these scammers saying similiar - often for services I don't have...

There's very little Sky can do. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-scams-help

There is a UK-based company that also makes similiar speculative calls.

It's random dialling. I had one in the last 30 mins from a Birmingham number offering a 30% discount. Any number can be spoofed so there's nothing Sky can do in terms of investigation.

Had call from a number Braintree in Essex stating they were from sky saying I had not paid my bill. Asked me to confirm a few things. Was suspicious as it's by direct debit. When I challenged was given loads of abuse. Saying we're simply cut you off.

Yours is the second post I've sent over the last couple of days reporting a call from a Braintree number. Must be the current favourite spoofed number from the scammer.
