Moving house contract pro rata refund

I'm moving house and taking sky with us and I believe there's no break in contract; the minimum 18 mths continues at the new address. Sky are unable to connect us up for a full week after moving in so no broadband. Would there be a pro rata credit for loss of service for a week?

There might well be so when you are up at running at your new address you would have to call them and speak to them to see what they say.

Well I didn't know about a 2 week notice but it sort of matters not as our completion date wasn't confirmed until yesterday! 😱. The rather archaic English and Welsh system of buying/selling houses needs a modern overhaul! Last minute.com would be proud 😆

That 2 week minimum notice is required by Openreach in order to perform the switch of the broadband, there unfortunately is nothing that any ISP can do about that.

...still worth asking for a credit but they may not oblige. (The moving page states 2-4 weeks notice)

Yes you're right it's worth asking. Who gets 2-4 weeks notice these days of a completion date though?! Well, we didn't anyway 😆
