      <description>&lt;P&gt;I gave sky 30 days notice before my contract ended on the 6th of july, on the 6th i received confirmation that my broadband was cut off, that day i changed my provider, i had paid up to the 15th of july, i was paying a month in advance as i had payed double the first month, now they are saying i have to pay the 16th of july to the 14th of August, all my bills were direct debit never missed a payment yet they want an extra month at €60, my contract was 12 month not 13 month.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Your bill was generated 14 days before the payment date (when you were still a customer) so therefore Sky will attempt to take it as normal. Refusing to pay it will cause you further problems going forward. This is normal practice and not unique to you.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Of course the longer they can hang onto the odd £50 here and the odd £100 there the more interest they're earning. I had similar recently where I had a credit on both my mobile and TV accounts. Thanks to the intervention of the superusers on this forum I was able to get both refunds back relatively quickly rather than having to wait the standard six weeks. Just be warned, if you cancel your direct debit they will tell you that they have to issue a cheque refund and who kows how long that could take! It's high time this insidious practice by SKY was stopped. I can't think of any other business where you have to pay in advance and certainly not when services have stopped. In this day and age I don't buy into their excuse of it being down to when a bill is generated. Heck, I cancelled with a water company, because I was moving home, they did a meter reading whilst I was on the phone, told me what my credit was and it was back in my account within 2 days. SKY could do this is they wanted to but they obviously don't. I will NEVER use them again. If you look through the forum this same topic comes up time and time again so it's time people started talking with their feet.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Sorry, I don't buy your defence of sky, in this day and age they should be able to press a button on your final day of service and generate a bill to that date. Yes, they may get people who renege on paying their final bill and in those cases they should follow the legal processes available to them to get their payment. What they should not do, and what imo their process suggests,&amp;nbsp; is to assume the everybody will default on their final bill and so demand advance payments&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have been contacted by ComReg who have told me to make a formal complaint to sky and get a complaint reference number from sky, And i have outlined the mistakes sky have made on their billing, the proof from on post that sky sent me a package for my sky hub along with my sky modem the day before my contract ended on the 6th, the an post tracking saying it was delivered back to them on the 10th of July, plus the bill they want me to pay for both my TV and broadband that they say i owe for the 15th july to the 14th of August, even though they wanted both back following the 5th of July. we will see who is correct in the not too distant future&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;I&gt;&lt;FONT size="4"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I NEED A&lt;/SPAN&gt; reference number to identify and track my complaint &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/I&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;I acquired Sky Broadband on a 12-month contract on 6th July 2023, i paid 9 day for €9 for the dates 6th July to the 14th July,&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;I then paid 15th July to 14 August at €30, which was my half-price broadband for 12 Months deal.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;I then paid in the same month, covering 15th of August to 14th of September, which equates to you being paid 1 month in advance.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Subsequent payments of €30 were paid by Direct debit.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Now i ended my contract on the 6th of July 2024 which you confirmed, i initially attempted to give you 31 days' notice by phone,&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;upon twice phoning on the 3rd of June and then again on the 4th of June, the call again on both occasions cut off once the word cancellation was discussed.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;I attempted to resolve this so-called technical issue by Facebook but alas no message came from any of your employees.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Not being able to get in touch in any way i proceeded to change the provider for a wifi connection to be installed on the day my contract ended, which you confirmed&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;the day before on July The 5th, which is one day before the end of my contract, this is shown on the email photo i have attached.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;So for some reason, you seem to think i owe you for 15th July to the 14th August 2024 as i have again attached.&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Also on the 6th of July you ended my Sky TV and asked for your hub to be returned, you sent a parcel for the Sky hub out to me on the&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;5th of July,, which was delivered to my address on 8th of July, and i sent my Sky Hub back to you on the 9th and was delivered to you on the&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;10th of July, this i also attach proof from An Post tracking service. Now the bill says i owe an additional €49 for my sky tv for the dates 15th July to the 14&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;of August, even though the TV hub was returned 5 days before that bill is due to be paid? so for some reason you think i have to pay to not be able to watch Sky tv because you asked for the Hub, which is needed to watch Sky tv, back?&lt;/DIV&gt;</description>
