I have just cancelled sky a month before my contract runs out. I heard that if I want to get sky again in the future. I have to wait a year to register as a new customer again, is this correct. Thank you

Not completely. It's 18 months now, not a year.

You'll probably get some pretty good 'come back to Sky' offers sent to you in about 6 months time. A friend of mine left Sky Stream 6 months ago and got a come back offer of half price for a year (£15.50pm) via email. Also, my neighbour got a Sky Q offer of Signature & Cinema at £22pm on a 24 month contract a couple of months after cancelling.
