My Q box won’t update latest software

I have followed all steps on the update software instructions but when checking the my sky App it continues to tell me that my bow needs updating?

@Truckerdave You can't force an update on a Sky Q box, it will update when it receives one.

Also you post has been moved from the Sky Go Board as your post is unrelated to the Sky Go PC/Mobile app.

What version are you on ?

If you are on Q360 then you are on the latest version.

We know the app can be a little flakey.

Also the button to refresh the software will always show - even when you already have the latest software

my Q box is running on Q210 so sounds like it does need updating.

@Truckerdave Re-reading your first post, please remember that the Sky app is not the best place to check which software version you're on.

Ignore what the app "Service Checker" says if you are using that to check the version. (There's a chance your post meant you were checking there)

Instead, check the Sky Q box itself first.

From the SkyQ main menu: Home -> Settings -> System Info -> second item is "Software Version".

If it doesn't says "Q360..... " then it's worth trying to update it, and if that consistently fails then yes, the Service Checked is correctly flagging a problem, so contact Sky for help. It does have a habit of crying wolf though.

If it already says Q360, then updating will achieve nothing but waste your time - the update function doesn't say "there's no point doing this you already have the same version", it merrily does a fake-update (it doesn't actually re-load the same version).

[Note for later when I can no longer edit this post: Q360 is the latest version today, as I write this on 5th Sep 2026. If you're reading this in the future, it is likely to have been superceded.]
