Deals different on skyq versus app

I'm out of contract for my tv and sports. Saw a deal through my sky q box for £9 movies on a monthly rolling.

clicking them prompted me to accept 24month contract.

I've screen shot it.

anyone else had this? And is it just a glitch?

If you are asking if the £9 a months is subject to 24 monthly term, that usually the case with Sky discounted offers. The ad on you Sky on you Sky box should have said "subject to 24 month contract as it dose when I look at the same on the my Sky app.

You sure you've not conflated the two offers? Mine shows 2 options:-

Ok The discount price look good but the the price after minimum term ends or the monthly rolling price is very high as the lists price with no discount on the Sky web site is only £14 so not sure why they would be changing you £20 unless they have reintroduced the higher Sky cinema price if you don't have Sky sports.as well. However if you subscribe to Sky cinema on now tv the price is £10 for monthly rolling membership and even cheaper if you subscribe for 6 months,cancel any time with a no notice period. Same service available as on Sky Q except the Disney + channel

It's not the same service. Sky Cinema on NOW TV does NOT come with Paramount+ or the monthly Vue cinema tickets.

The content available is the same as on Sky Q.

@Angel_Aka Beat me to it, it's also only SD on Now TV without paying for the Boost add-on and of course no recording facility. If you record a Cinema movie and it gets removed from streaming access, does it delete the recording or make it unusable?

Well, technically speaking, if you don't pay for HD on Sky Q you'll get Sky Cinema in SD, but I don't know what they class as their SD resolution on Q as it's been so long since I've had it. The basic service on NOW without any Boost add-on gives a resolution of 720P.

A recording of a movie from a Sky Cinema channel on Q will keep the recording indefinitely. An on demand download of a movie will likely be removed if Sky lose rights to that particular title.

BTW, I should have added that the monthly rolling deal is only available via the Q box, online and on the App I only have the £9 - 24 month contract available for selection. There is no rolling monthly offer (even full price) at all.

It's not the same service. Sky Cinema on NOW TV does NOT come with Paramount+ or the monthly Vue cinema tickets.
The content available is the same as on Sky Q.

I said in my post above the list Sky price is only £14 for Sky cinema so where the £20 price on the pictures come from I don't know

with respect to you comments that the now tv dose not come with Paramount + or vue cinema tickets. True but if the Now tv price is only £9.99 the extra you are paying for Sky cinema on Sky Q covers most of the cost of haveing paramount+ included. If I wanted paramount + I could subscribe direct at monthly charge of £5.99 which is about £1 more that paying £14 for cinema on Sky Q and if the price is now £20 the SkyQ price is a lot high than now tv even with paramount vue tickets added

As for the free vue cinema tickets that offer is only viable if you live near a vue cinema which I don't and the nearest one is over40 miles away and involves a train ride costing £30 for me and the wife. As the normal vue ticket price for the days you can use Sky free ones is only £.4.99 each for me getting to view cinema defeats the object when I canjust go to my local cinema cheaper.

As for come that content for Sky Cinema is the same as Sky Q that is slightly wrong as I put in my original post you do not get the new Sky Disney + channel on now tv , I never know that for fact as I just looked on the now tv app and it not there. Not much of problem as it only shows the same content that is available on the Disney + app which I subscribe to any way.

True with Now TV you have pay £6 to get the boost add on to watch in HD, however on Sky Q you have to pay £9 to have the HD add on as well other wise like now tv you can lay watch in SD. Also the now tv boost dose not give you HD quality pictures but also allows your pro view on 3 devices simultaneously which is another extra on Sky Q and also ad free viewing on the on demand content.

Are you saying all we pay HD add on of £9 is just for signature and Sky news then?.

my wife and I can watch now tv in HD via two separate tv fire sticks on tv in different rooms with boost, the equivalent on Sky Q is multiroom which costs a extra £15 a month on top of the HD add of £9 a total of £24 amonth , But with now you get both plus ad free on demand content for a total of £6 month

Yes. There is no doubt about this. The SD Cinema satellite channels have gone, they are not broadcasting, it's physically impossible to get "SD Cinema" on Satellite.

(So anything which says "wow look, you're getting HD for FREE!" is disengenius. Competition from the streamers helped achieve this).

It's always easy to check this, on the lyngsat website.

This is subtly different to the situation with Sport, where the SD channels - incredibly I know - are still being broadcast. I'll just leave this graph here for info...
