The mini box has stopped working due to issues with the main box. It costs a lot of money a month for this service, when it doesn't work a lot of the time. Have started watching apps etc just via the smart tv, maybe thats the answer to bin sky off as its not fit for purpose.

How long have you had your main box if you have had it long time it and may have developed a fault if it continues with the symptoms you describe you may want to get on to Sky to send out a replacement box. However Sky Q in it self is now getting quiet old and there is no new supply of new of Sky Q boxes all the stock Sky hold either for replacement or for new customers are reconditioned old Sky Q boxes of various issues and types. There has not been manufacture of Sky box for quite a few years now I believe, if I wrong there maybe some one could comment. Don't know what issue and type your present box is, but there is no guarantee what issue or type your replacement will be. It could a newer issue or a older one. To my way of thinking this being the case even if the SkyQ box has been reconditioned, the fact they are they are old boxes the life them must be limited as in most case they would been plugged in to mains 24/7 and in use for quite a few years in most cases and in various environments in it's previous occupancies and therefore in my opinion there is no guarantee how long even your replacement box may last. It may last a couple of years or only a couple of weeks, it the luck of the draw. I have read post where subscribers have to have multiple replacement boxes before they get one that works for any length of time. As you say you pay quite a lot of money for your Sky Q service and only right that you should expect a good quality service that maybe the Sky Q service is reaching it limit for reliability and think that the SkyQ boxes are getting to time where there reliability can not be guaranteed , just look at the number of post on this forum that have trouble with there Sky box.. Therefore you may want to consider you options as alternative service that will give you value for you money.
