mini sky q boxes

i have sky in every bedroom, 3 rooms and the lounge. so why is it i can't have it in it all rooms !! that is the purpose of the subscription isn't it to be able to have it everywhere in the home... i currently have the main one on in lounge, my son has his box on and yet i can't put mine on as it's saying maximum number of sky q mini boxes is reached !! so really 2 of my sky q mini boxes are irrelevant !!

hi @yourstruly

It is a hardware limitation of the main boxes which can only support 2 active minis (1 for the non UHD 1TB main boxes)

You can possibly use more at any one time but for using with apps like Netflix or Disney - which do not rely on the main box for their content

Well, no. As @nigea99 indicates, this limitation has been a fundamental feature of the Q platform for more than a decade, and isn't going to change in the few years the platform has left.

The Whole Home subscription permits up to three Glass television sets and six Stream pucks to be in simultaneous use (assuming sufficient internet bandwidth is arriving at the address)

@yourstruly You can have a maximum of 4 mini boxes loaned to you by Sky.

All 2TB boxes and the UHD/HDR 1TB permit watching on two mini boxes and the main box at 1 time. You may also be able to use a 3rd mini box at the same time if you’re using it for one of the apps such as Netflix.
The older 1TB non UHD box only allows you to watch on 1 mini box as well as the main box .

Each mini box which is loaned to you may be subject to a one off upfront charge but you only need one Sky Q monthly Multiscreen subscription.
