Sky mini box will not connect

Hi. The issue is at my parents in laws house. They have a Sky Q main box. And one Sky mini box (in their bedroom ). The system was all okay and working well until Sky sent them a new router last week.

now I can not get both boxes to connect at the same time I've followed on line advice. I've turned everything off. Router on first. Main sky box. Connect to router. Mini box on if u connect to router it knocks main box connection out. If I connect to main box thd connection lasts maybe a minute or two before losing connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi @BlueCaerphilly

First try rebooting the main Q box and then when this is completely back up and running reboot the mini.
To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Reboot the mini as above.
If the mini still does not connect reliably try a Network Reset on the mini.
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

If you are on Sky Broadband and the Router is nearer to the mini than the main box then you can try pressing WPS on the router instead of the main Q box. If you do this make sure you press the Sky router WPS button and not the router reset button. If you have the new Sky Max router then you need to connect the WPS to the main Q box.

If you have one of the new hubs you have to connect the main SKy Q box as if you are using broadband supplied by someone else and have to mannually enter the settings.

Mine has been working firn for months, but now the main Sky Q and one mini is conneted, but the other mini fails to connect. Sometimes it comes back that it hasn't been able to get an IP address and others it just fails in its connection attempt to the main Sky Q box when you reset and do a discovery.

One of the many messages displayed was "there appears to be a problem with your router which means it is not issuing IP addresses (MR002)."

That's a new message. All the other messages I've had have been saying no connection to the main sky Q box. It's very frustrating as their system worked perfectly until Sky replaced their router

Had that yesterday and powered everything off including the router and then restarted router first that was working correctly, but did it any way. Once router was up and everything else connected I was able to reset the mini and get it to connect successfully with the main SKy Q box.

I think there's either been an update or its the heat causing issues.
