No Re Contract Offers

Hi,

Been with Sky for 27 years, my Q contract finishes on the 31st July 2026, so I called this morning to look to recontract and all I was offered was a £10 discount, for a new 24 month contract. As is always the case I asked to be put through to cancellations as I know they can usually do better. They looked at it and said they were no recontract deals and I should call back once my service is cancelled on the 31st July. I theirfore cancelled and I won't be calling them after the 31st. If you want my continued business, you should be negotiating with me while I'm still a customer. I shouldn't be chasing you to stay with your business. Anyone experienced this, in all the years I've been with Sky never ever had this happen. I'm not a big fan of much on Sky but I mainly watch the sports. If I receive no further contact with Sky think I'll just watch the sports through the Now app on my roku 4k stick, I already have a deal for entertainment with movies and boost for £6.98 a month for 6 months just to try it out.

I wonder if Sky will be back in touch to try and get me to recontract, or just let me leave?

Mark...

Offers on Sky Q are few and far between these days, certainly not in the amount there used to be.

Once your service ends the 'win-back' team may be in touch, usually with better offers than the retentions team. If they don't call you and you find you miss your Sky Q service, you can always call them after your service stops. You don't need to send the Q box back immediately so keep a hold of it and if you give them a call, ask for the win-back team. If they give you an offer you like you can accept and have your box and service back in a matter of seconds.

Alternatively of course, let your service stop, remove the box, cabling and dish from your property, return the box to Sky and save yourself a fair bit of money by getting your Sky content from the NOW app instead. I have Entertainment with HBO Max and Ultra Boost for £6.99pm on a 12 month contract and it works superbly.

As it takes 2 or 3 days to be received by the receiving depot that handle the returns and some time it can be quite few weeks before actual box is dealt with as being received. I have seen quite a few instances on this forum where the subscriber has left it quite a few weeks after end of service before retuning ther box and received a non return charge as it has not been dealt with by the depo team yet.

Mine is also due for renewal in mid August. Like you, have been with Sky for 27+ years and SkyQ all the way since it first appeared - am seriously considering giving EE a go though with a NOW Sports add-on as existing, loyal, long-term customers get nothing these days...
