I have just taken out a multi room sub and am trying to get my mini box connected. I have BT wifi, (not sky), the room I have the mini in has a BT wifi disc and is quite a long way from the main Q box. I get connected to my wifi network, the mini then connects to my main box, I can watch live TV, but when I try to watch any recordings, I only get sound for a while, the a message saying this recording is no longer available, then a message saying you cant currently watch TV as theres an issue with the connection between this mini box and your sky q box.

I have reset and resytarted the process 4 times now, but cannot get it to work.

I'm also getting error MR204.

Q won't stay connected to the BT discs unless they are all Ethernet connected.

I did wonder, so If I connect to my BT disc with ethernet, then all should be good?

All Q boxes will need to be Ethernet connected to use the BT back haul.

Turn off WiFi on the Q boxes in the engineer menu.

That fixed it. Would be nice if they mentioned it in the instructions.

One issue, I can't play any UHD recordings from the mini box.

I can't play any UHD recordings from the mini box.

That's correct: Q Mini boxes have never had a UHD video chipset and the main Q box cannot downscale a recording made in UHD.
