Ive been watching a series on 5 recordings and now it tells me i dont have the right subscription,

ive turned everything off and on again but still nojoy.

can someone please help.

Is this a recording from the live chanell or is this possibly a download.

C5 (& I think C4) allow you to watch & record from the live channel in HD without the HD add on but you need the HD add on to be able to download & watch in HD & thus can get a message asking to upgrade if you don;t have the HD add on

If this is the case then:

As the default download quality is set to HD (high Definition) not SD then when you try to download and watch you are prompted to upgrade (i.e. take out the HD subscription)

You, probably, just need to change your download preference to SD
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

Its only doing it on one series i was ok on the first 2 parts of series but problem started on episode 3.

wwhat i dont understand is why would it let me watch episodes 1 and 2 but not ep 3.

the series name is major crimes unit.

ive tried cleaning the viewing card.

Not sure it is a hardware issue it happened to a few people yesterday. If you have the correct subscription but for some reason the box stops being able to read your card you will get that message. In my case the picture just suddenly froze each time then I got a blue screen, not sure if the "fixes" really helped or it just corrected itself.

Looking on my Sky Box, episode 3 is only available in HD. I suspect, therefore, that you don't have the HD subscription and as @nigea99 indicates, this is why you were able to watch episodes 1 & 2 in SD.

I'd email Viewer Relations on viewerR@sky.uk who should be able to request the SD version from 5.
