Mini not connecting to main box have to reset each time

I do not know why it is doing it.

I have to keep resetting/reactivating the mini box to connect to main box when turn it on each time.

Once I do this it works, but as soon as turn on the next time, have to repeat. Getting a pain now.

I got a new router TP link Archer, because the BT router and mini disc wasn't as good speed.

I test online and 515.69 Mb/s & 71.30 Mb/s dl.

Both box and Mini are on the same router Wifi name, not on the extenders Wi Fi name..

Ive tried the router on Wifi 5 and Wifi 6 setting

Mini box is on the ethernet straight to the router (also tried via wifi)

Its a new mini as the other kept freezing the picture, but it did the same as above also.

I was hoping was the old mini and would solve it.

Anyone help?

It is not like its far far away from each other, and walls are thin., doors always open, same floor..

Use to work great for 20 years.

@1972shirl how is your main box connected to the routeris that by wifi or ethernet ?

Wifi, it is too far away for ethernet. on router

@1972shirl as your Q box is connected to your router by wifi your mini box needs to be connected to you main Q box either by Wifi using the WPS button or by ethernet.

Having the mini connected to the router by ethernet when the main box is connected by wifi doesnt work i'm afraid

Maybe another thing i could try if use both on ethernet cables. I could set my router and extender as a mesh? Not set up one of those before, but both say support it. That would be like the bt router was with main and bt mini disc use to use.

Still doesn't work when the same wifi.

Says cannot connect and have to reset again and again. 😡

I am getting some power adaptors end of the week to try both on ethernet.

I have exactly the same problem. I've done everything the help systems on the website advise, but to no avail.

Great, I found a phone number to call an expert. Unfortunately, I get through to a recorded message. It asks me what the problem is. It always answers, "Sorry, I didn't get that". So what use is it. Sky needs to employ humans to answer phones.

Would setting the same ip l for them to use each time help you think? If so how do u do that on main box and mini?

Looks like it is solved now. I went in the network settings, advanced, and manually set the IP address same as it was. Now it does not change, and for a few days now had no problems.
