Sky Q returns...yes or no

Does anyone know whether Sky still want the Sky Q box and Sky mini boxes to be returned after cancellation?

I had a phone call from Sky where something was said about returns but it was impossible to be certain of the details because of the strong accent of the caller.

Q is approaching end of life as a platform, and it appears that Sky isn't as strict as they used to be with returns: first model (2016) main boxes are effectively obsolete, for example.

I'd suggest hanging onto the hardware for several months after cancelling, just to be safe (and note they don't have any value second hand other than hard-drive salvage)

If you’ve successfully cancelled, Sky should send out returns packaging to the address where the account was active, near the end of any cancellation period (which is 31 days for Sky Q) for any loaned equipment they are expecting back.

Some posts suggest older Sky Q boxes are not being requested but I think all mini boxes are for returning.

Contact Sky if you're uncertain. If they say not needed back I'd still be inclined to keep it for a good while just in case.

Thanks for the responses, I will wait and see what they send me this week as the contract finished on Sunday 26th.

Does the packaging show on your tracking link I posted above for you as it should do if you have your noti e to cancel.

Yes, the packing does show on the link and is saying awaiting dispatch. Might be interesting to see how big a box they send as there is a Sky q box and 4 mini boxes plus all the associated cables , psu's etc. to go back.

They asked for our Sky Q box to be returned in the cancellation email but it also said they didn't want the Q box returning so I returned it anyway.
