It does if you consider that the 'Q mesh' is proprietary technology from more than a decade ago (when I suspect fairly few UK domestic users were running Unifi kit ; )

Sky Q Mini - Ethernet

I currently have a 3rd aprt ISP, and Unifi Ubiquiti gear, all is running fine, I have my main Sky Q box hard wired in and have disabled WiFi, I was having constant issue with it on WiFi and been solid since doing this. Now, I dug out my old SKy Q mini this week, and was wanting to set it up in the bedroom, I am still paying the sub for it so may as well.

I have ethernet back to my router in my bedroom, this should be a case of plugging in and it will talk over the network to the Sky Q box right? They will both be on the same VLAN. I am reading things saying the boxes need to be connected directly together - which makes no sense really. Others saying they must still connect wirelessly, but I will refuse to turn wifi back on the main box as it drops every 30 seconds or so.

Just want confirmation them both going into my switch is fine?

Thanks

They do not need to be directly connected to each other but must both be connected via ethernet to the same network - which can be direct or via the router or via unmanaged switches.
