Multi mini box connection using WiFi and Ethernet

Can I connect one of my mini boxes to the main a box via WiFi and another via power line adapter as I have a problem getting WiFi to that area of the house.

hi @HelloYouMrSky

It depends on your ISP & if SKY, which router

For older SKY routers then, yes you can mix wifi with ethernet.

If non SKY or the newer SKY routers (which are treated as 3rd party by SKY Q) then you need all wifi or all ethernet.

I do have a sky router and sky board band, how do I set up to connect both please 🙏

Can you advise which SKY router you have ?

(Unfortunately I don't know specifically where to look)

I belive this is one of the older SKY Q compatible routers, in which case I believe you should be able to mix connections.

AFAIK you should be able to just connect the furthest mini via ethernet to a powerline connecter with the other end connected either to the router or main box.

you may need to switch off the wifi on the mini so that it does not try to connect via wifi

press Home
Scroll to Settings - but do not press enter/select at this point
Press 0 0 1 in sequence followed by the Enter/ select button
you should now get the engineer's menu where you can switch off the wifi
