I've just had a call from someone saying they were calling from Sky saying they can get me a cheaper or better deal but not sure if it was a scam

Hi @Susan+Parry Why would Sky call you and offer you something that would reduce their income? Almost certainly a scam.

I've just rang the number back and it's a recording of a ladies voice saying Sky tried to contact me and will try again so is it possible to check if the number was sky it was it safe

Numbers are easily spoofed. It may be Sky's genuine number but the caller may not be from Sky...
