Hi -- Like every other Sky Customer, whether a "VIP" 20 Year one like me or brand new, we'll all have the pleasure of the latest round of package price increases across the board - varying between 7% and 12% on Sky products - and so begins yet another annual tiresome tussle with Sky over this to reduce cost...

On this , has anyone successfully reduced their Sky Q package to just the "Sky Q Essentials" pack (not not the Stream Essentials one) in the last week or so ??? How ??!

I have been told today by a Retentions Agent that this is not possible since "sometime last year". Is this true ??

Basically Q Essentials was being offerd at £15pm (some paid as little as £7.50 pm) for reduced channels (of course) but retained the Q box recording function. Netflix gone as well , but could be added back independently at whatever level (Standard / Premium etc) was required. All fine .. but now not available apparently. Anyone know any different or some Sky Guru available to make the switch ??

"Alternatives" offered: Sky Stream Essentials (£40 oneoff for 'puck' , then £18 pm for 24months + Apr price hits) . Send Q box back. Agent didn't know whether any Netflix UHD/Atmos broadcasts would be blocked by Sky if you didn't pay the + £6 pm UHD/Atmos supplement. Or just leave . (No EarlyTermination fee within 30 days of being advised of price increase)

Alternatives to Sky for just "freesat" equivalents and Netflix & Prime etc. ?? No Cinema/Sports/Multiroom required.

Any success stories out there amongst other frustrated Sky customers ??

Thanks, Peter J
