If you have Sky Protect cover through Domestic and General Insurance you can call them but a customer previously posted on here that they wouldn't send an engineer - but they did offer the customer £65 towards arranging one themselves.

See question Q23 in my Sky Plus F⋅A⋅Q for No Satellite Signal

"No Satellite Signal" is an error generated by your Sky box, it has nothing to do with broadband (Internet connectivity) and usually indicates an issue with one or more of the following

The Dish is misaligned (not all transponders are getting through, thus some channels may be affected and others not)

The Tuners in the sky box

The input sockets on the Sky box

The plugs on the cables

The cables themselves

The Sockets on the dishes LNB

The dishes LNB has gone faulty for the connections the box is using

You have plugged your Sky+ box into a dish that is only compatible with Sky Q

Please Note: Sky+ is now a legacy/obsolete service that Sky are replacing with their newer services: Sky Glass and/or Sky Stream

You may have to call out a local satellite installer ( at your own expense ), unless you already have Sky Protect insurance, to check/fix your system, another option is to move to Sky Glass and/or Sky Stream (self-install, no engineer required)

Further help: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-plus-error-message-broken-image

@Daniel0210 wrote:
Edit: You have previous posted on the Sky Q board about a satellite signal issue so do you actually have Sky Q?

On the 10th January you posted 5 times in the Sky Q board that you have a mini box. I've therefore taken a punt that you've posted this on the wrong board and I've moved it to Sky Q.

With Sky Q ~ ”No signal” messages tend to be generated from your TV and normally means your TV’s not seeing the Sky box on the relevant HDMI input.

With a “no satellite signal” error message, check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Otherwise it’s very likely either;
▫️a dish misalignment,
▫️a failing LNB (on the arm of the dish),
▫️water getting into the cabling,
▫️very heavy rain or
▫️snow on the dish/LNB in winter
so check the troubleshooting on this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-tv-no-satellite-signal-sky-q
It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer. If it doesn’t you’ll need to contact Sky to book an engineer appointment.

If you are connected to a communal dish you need to liaise directly with your building management company or landlord who will have their approved engineers to contact direct.

It’s worth mentioning that:

🔹 a misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels (amongst the first to be affected may be TNT or GB News),

🔹 adverse weather can affect the satellite signal and following such events wait times for an engineer will probably be significantly longer.

🔹a Sky Q box requires a periodic 'Keep alive' signal that is delivered via the satellite so if that isn’t received the box will close down until the satellite signal is restored.
