Thanks @nigea99 for replying. I didn't actually know that about the mini box only connecting to the Q and not the wifi- so thanks for letting me know.

I would understand the mini box complaining of wifi signal issues if it was signal related - but that it seems to factory reset every night is really confusing.

I could try and put the original Sky router back in place and see if this makes any difference - but the fact that it was working fine for 3 or 4 years as it was - again it's confusing.

Hey Sky TV community.

My network setup is Sky Q box connected by network cable to my broadband router (TP Link). I then have wifi mesh (TP Link Deco) with Sky Mini box connecting via wireless.

I've had a Sky Q for as long as I can remember, and around 4 years ago added the Sky mini box.

My reason for adding the Mini was, after some house renovations, my TV moved away from where the Sky cable enters the house, so I keep the Sky Q main box in a cabinet, but not connected to a TV, then have the Sky mini box in my new living room plugged into my TV.

Just before Christmas, the Sky Mini box every morining would show when turned on an error that said something like "technical error, no network". Resetting my wifi, rebooting my router and the Sky Q box seemed to fix it.

After doing this for a week or so, I contacted Sky and they sent me a replacement Mini box. This worked fine for about a week, then one morning it had factory reset itself. When powered on the remote had to be re-paired, the setup wizard to rejoin to the Sky Q box comes up and I have to perform the initial out of box setup.

This happened a few days in a row, so I called Sky, they sent me another replacement.

Again, this was fine for a week, but now it is doing exactly the same thing.

Any thoughts from the community?

Thanks.

hi @carlos00077

You need to be aware that, when your home wifi is not SKY, the mini does not connect to your home wifi but instead to a wifi network generated by the SKY Main box.

As your main box is connected to your home network effectively via ethernet then I think you should be able to connect the mini also vai ethernet (direct or using TP link, and/or network switches) to your home network

Alternatovely you may be able to SKY to send you a SKY Q booster to place betwwn your main box & mini
