Hi @Badsurgeon

First try rebooting the main Q box and then when this is completely back up and running reboot the minis.
To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Reboot the minis as above.
If a mini still does not connect try a Network Reset on the minis. Start with the one nearest to the main Q box
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

If you are on Sky Broadband and the Router is nearer to the mini than the main box then you can try pressing WPS on the router instead of the main Q box. If you do this make sure you press the Sky router WPS button and not the router reset button. If you get the first mini connected then for other minis use WPS on the nearest Q device (main Q box or Sky Router if on Sky Broadband or previously connected mini).

Failing all of the above you may need a Sky Q WiFi Booster to position midway between your main Q box and the mini and you will need to contact Sky directly.

Did this get resolved? We are having the same issue since upgrading to supposedly much faster fibre. I note sky say that for first ten days you can't even speak to them as they are 'testing' so expect it to keep dropping? It's very annoying (and was fine before upgrading the broadband)

Perfect timing for your follow up!

The engineer came yesterday and our mesh network was under excess stress and had too much noise which was causing the problem. The boxes all connect to each other and because of the quirks of our house they were trying to run in a long line which was not working well.

An excellent engineer spent a couple of hours at the house and replaced a couple if mini boxes and then placed a booster in a carefully choosen spot and the hope is this will help. When she left the mesh was running much happier.

She did mention that it is even worse if you have the more expensive broadband router as then all the boxes have to connect directly to that rather than in a mesh.

I have the same problem but my mini boxes loose connection every single day, and sometimes more than once a day. They won't reconnect unless the main box is switched on (as oppossed to being on standby) so when I wake up in the morning the mini won't reconnect unless I get up, go down stairs and switch on the main box, which sort of defeats the whole object of waking up to watch telly in bed!! The mini box in my bedroom is on an ethernet cable direct to the router, which is in the same room as main box only a few feet away so I don't know how it can be a WiFi issue?

Any ideas anyone cos it's really p'ing me off!

The issue for us was not just WiFi signal it was stress on the network. The engineer that came out was amazing and spent ages trying different combinations.

The booster box completely fixed the issue for us.

Of note when she assessed our network- because of the stress- boxes were not connecting to the one geographically closest which exacerbated the issue.

The booster allows the network to flow better.

She also supported a refund for us as we had not had useable TV for 4 months.

Yes my new mini box drops out every single day even when the main router is switched on and it's been doing this since the mini box was replaced a month ago. So I reckon it's a fault with mini box and probably another way for sky to get more money by insisting I need a booster, even though there's nothing else connected to wifi

SKY do provide a SKYQ booster if one is needed, you will need to call SKY and talk to an advisor, you would usually need an engineer visit to install the booster which is usually provided free of charge.

I was having the same problem mini boxes kept dropping it was so frustrating. So I went through the whole wifi set up on the main sky Q box, (settings, status, network connection, reset) despite also having a hardwired connection.

I then followed the guidance on the Sky website. Full reboot of the main box (including checking that the WiFi password had been retained) followed by reboot of the mini box closest to the main Q box. Pressing the wps button on the main box when instructed. Once connection has been made go to settings and check WiFi password is the same as the one entered on the main box. Reboot the mini box to check that the mini box connects automatically. If you have more mini boxes follow the same process for the mini box closest to the first mini box. It took me ages to work out this methodology but it was time well spent as so far 🤞my mini boxes are completely stable .
