Changing to SkyQ

Hi, I am due to have my standard Sky TV updated to SkyQ. However, I have recordings on my old Sky box of my child on a tv show that I wish to keep. Sky customer services have told me that I can keep the old Sky box with the recordings on them.
can someone just confirm to me if I can still activate thr old box further down the line once SkyQ has been installed as the old Sky box will be disconnected

hi @Meady1965

Whilst you can keep the old box, you cannot play any recordings on it once the account is switched.

Your only option is to copy onto a DVD , HDD recorder , Computer or similar that accept the analogue outputs that SKY HD have, before you switch
