Moving home SKYQ

I am moving home to an apartment from my current house with SKY broadband, SKYQ and UHD and dish. I've requested my service is moved and received an email and confirmation of the move.

"Thank you for getting in touch with Sky. Your replacement box is on its way and will be with you within the next couple of working days. Our courier will be in touch to confirm the date and time of your delivery."

Does this mean no SKYQ box and it's recording facilties, which I use extensively, and I guess will just be Streaming ? This was not explained when I requested the move and there was no mention of a new dish, so I don't know what this new box provides? How do I automatically record BBC, ITV series, and sport such as Formula1? Can I record local ITV news like I can do currently on SKYQ?

I do have a balcony but don't know if I'm allowed to install a dish? BUT do SKY prefer NOT to provide dishes any more by default?

Sky still provide a dish if needed. Does the new address have a communal dish? You need to speak to your new landlord or building management company to determine what they'll allow.

Not sure what Sky mean by a new box. Once you've clarified the position with the dish it may be wise to call Sky to discuss.

Also I currrently connect my SKYQ audit by oprical fibre to my AV amp so not sure that will work

A Home Move absolutely does not mandate a platform change, which shouldn't happen without your explicit consent and acceptance of a new contract.

Thanks. I've just spoken to SKY and the box being sent out is a replacment router and there no change planned. I'll need to find out if there's a communal dish. Thanks.

That would be for you to establish with the building owners. Note that Sky doesn't provide specific balcony mounts.

In general, yes, but Sky Q is still a live product.

Also, if your balcony is facing north, a dish isn't going to work anyway.
