Mini Box Ibroadband nterference

Does anyone get broadband interference which effects their mini box only? Our mini box drops out of my broadband network and on checking the network the broadband has changed - like someone else has tried to connect to our tv using their own broadband. As I said it only effects the mini box. This issue occurs very randomly. Our broadband is with BT (don't ask). This issue occurs very randomly.

Any help in solving this please...

With Sky Q, the main box is the only box connecting to your BT broadband and any mini boxes are only trying to connect to the main box, which serves everything to them, including channels, recording and access to the internet.

If you have a single BT hub/router, then the normal cause of interference is because the main Sky Q box is generating its own 5ghz network for the mini boxes to connect to, while the BT hub/router is doing the same on a similar channel.

There are lots of threads on this community and the BT one about changing the channel of the 5ghz band on a BT hub to move it away from the one Sky Q uses.

The Sky Q mesh uses channel 36, so change the BT hub to something like 48 as this solves most issues.

While you are having a play, you can go into the WiFi settings in all of the mini Q boxes and turn off the 2.4ghz option, as it is not in use.

If your main Q box is connected via Ethernet, you can turn off the 2.4ghz there as well. If it is connected using WiFi, then leave it alone as that is how it will be connected to a BT hub.
