When my TV has been on for a long time i geta message Your TV is going on standby to remedy this it says press any button but the press any button doesnt work so the TV goes off

Sounds like that's a message from your TV, not a Sky box, so have you tried the TV remote?

Usually I just use the volume up/down keys to dismiss he message

Then there's something wrong with the TV. The only role the Sky box has to play in this scenario is when the remote is also controllling the TV, as above, maybe tweaking the volume would simulate using the TV's remote and dismiss the message.

If the TV remote isn't doing what it should do to the TV, you need to talk to the TV manufacturer.

no It's not the tv it is the sy box I had an update from sky that stopped the box working now it says that message after about two to three hours shay your sky a box is going to stand by mode push any button to cancel
