Do I have to pay extra for on demand channels on the TV, when I get them free on my tablet?

No, your subscription allows you to download from on demand onto your SKy Q box for the channels included in your subscription.

There is one quirk that Channel 4 & Channel 5 let you watch & record in HD without the HD add on but you can only download in SD from these channels if you do not have the HD add on.
