Why does Sky lets its users answer its technical questions about faults its equipment creates ?

Its Like leasing a car and asking your neighbours to come and fix every time it breaks down.

We all know the SQY Q hardware platform is Flakey at best especially with once every month Mini boxes falling of the edge of the earth ,

For what we are being charged its absolute robbery , we pay for a service which sky expect us to work out and fix ??

Their engineers cant seem to solve things either, that is save suggesting swopping the boxes.

Appalling Sky, you really need to get your act together and fix this **bleep**.

MR106 cant connect, its not my network, so dont suggest it is.

look at the numbers of times people get this stupid agravating , frustrating , infuriating message.

why are you just saying dont worry posting a problem means that someone in the community will likely answer ...

Do you have a question for other customers?

Primary support is from Sky - but other customers may have answers and possibly quicker.

Because most of the regular posters especially the superuser group are very vastly knowledgeable customers on sky products and policy based on years of being on the forums and having sky products throughout that time

The general idea is that in a large number of cases other customers including those referred to as SuperUsers can give the appropriate advice to a question which prevents the poster needing to call Sky, therefore freeing up the lines for matters that do require staff intervention and saving on what could be a long wait in a queue to speak to an agent.

It's called a Community Support forum for a reason and the answers given are, usually, very appreciated and knowledgeable.

But any questions can also be elevated to a person chat level with sky if needs be by, I believe, superusers.

Well quite honestly I am more inclined to ask here first as I trust the advice I get and even then you are safe in the knowledge that if there is something unsual afoot it will be escalated for resolution appropriately with Sky directly.

But that may be just me and countless thousands of others who seek help here, but there we are.

Just Frustrated as you can probably gather.

Im still of the mind Sky should sort the issues themsleves though!

Indeed it won't be your network, it'll probably be because the mini needs to talk direct to the Q (or another mini) if you're not on one of the black Sky routers.

And yeah that is flakey. It's why I gave up on wifi years ago.

Also, one of the definite strengths of the community is we can express opinions of Sky hardware and services and suggest workarounds or alternatives which would get someone employed by Sky sacked for even thinking about...
