Sky Essential plus Ultra HD

My contract is up in a few weeks and as usual I have contacted retentions regarding a better deal. I have just been told that my request to downgrade to Sky Essential from Sky signature while keeping Ultra HD is not possible via Sky Q - only available to new customers. Having been with Sky for 19 years I find this infuriating. I have looked at the various sky webpages and cannot find anything that indicates that existing customers are unable to shift to a Sky essential package with the Ultra HD add-on.

I'd appreciate it if anyone can advise if this is in fact true

@Bwright65 No it's not possible to get ultra you need signature as a minimum

There are no channels on Sky Q Essentials which offer UHD content so it would be pointless paying for it.

UHD used to upgrade NetFlix tiers but no longer does. Any contract change moves you to the new pricing model.

Q Essentials* is quite limited - but I believe Sky do offer certain options for it now such as Multiroom.

* it's basically free-to-air channels with recording facility
