What other devices do you have connected via HDMI as sometimes the tv's detection of these will blank out the current selection for a few seconds.

If you have any other HDMI devices connected to the tv - try unplugging them for a while to illiminate that issue.

@dcoppard wrote:

My son has SkyQ for some years. About 6 months ago his TV screen suddenly started going blank for up to a minute and then returning to normal although the Q box was still showing it as switched on. He wanted a new TV so after buying one and connecting it he noticed that the problem still happened on occasional basis.

2 months ago the family moved house to a new home. During the move the TV was broken so another new TV was purchased! He inherited a Q dish at the new home and Sky reactivated his broadband a few days later. Sky also supplied a new router. The router and Q box are only about 2 meters apart. Later on the problem started recurring yet again. After speaking to Sky they supplied a replacement Q box and yet again back came the intermittent blank screens. He has also changed the HDMI cable and the replacement Q came with a new power cable.

So basically he has a different Sky dish and cabeling, new updated Sky router on a different BT exchange, new TV and replacement Q box and still the problem occurs!

My only suggestion now is perhaps the viewing card has developed a fault as this is the only component that hasn't been replaced but I've never heard of that and wonder if anybody else has had a similar problem. Obviously we will give the card a good wipe but any other suggestions as to what the problem might be would really be appreciated as were flumuxed.
