New sky q mini box not lagging

I have received a new sky q mini box that o have postioned upstairs. When I change channels or try to watch a recorded programme it lags and doesn't respond instantly. I have rebooted, reset the network connection and also I have installed a WiFi extender but the main sky q box that is a wired connection doesn't stay connected to the WiFi extender network.

The mini won't use a standard wifi extender to talk to the Q unless you're on sky broadband?

A Q booster can be used like that though. You'd connect it to the mini and router, not to the Q box.

Ahh ok thanks, I've recently moved away from sky q broadband so that answers that question. I tried changed to 5ghz on the boxes but didn't resolve the issue. I contacted sky and they said it seems to be the box so are sending a replacement. I am not 100% convinced it is a box issue and I tested another mini box upstairs and was the same issue. If the sky q mini shows it is connected to the main box ok could it be anything else that is causing it to be slow? Only other gadgets I have upstairs is Alexa echo which I wouldn't of thought would interfere with the box as hasn't done so with the other boxes

It could if it's trying to use the same wifi frequencies to talk to your router

5GHz attenuates much more easily than 2.4 with walls/distance.

Problem resolved. It turned out to be the new samsung tv WiFi. As soon as it was turned off then the sky mini box worked fine.
