topic Sky mini box buffering in Sky Q

Hi, I've got an issue with buffering on Sky mini box, I've built a room in my garden very close to the house, I've put a BT disc in as a wi-fi extender and that is working brilliant, I have full WiFi on my phone and laptop and getting the same speed as I would in the house. So I presumed that as WiFi was good I'd just plug in sky mini dish and off we go, but it's buffering and stopping/ starting, am I missing something here as I presumed that the sky mini would pick up the signal from the BT disc extender which has an excellent signal,? Can anyone help???
Thanks Dave

It doesn't. Unless you have Sky boradband. It has to connect directly to the Q. You can give it a non-wifi route to do that by possibly hardwiring it into the BT disc, sometimes works (I do that with ny Q box to stabilise its connection to the internet)

or powerlines.

or a Q wifi booster which can act as a bridge specific to the mini-Q connection. Those don't seem so easy to get hold of these days.
