What do you mean by your thread title - HD gone?

HD costs more than SD to broadcast which has been discussed many times on the forum.

Sky have always charged for HD channels.

As stated by @oj01 the HD add-on has always been chargeable. It's not new.

Various 'free-to-air' channels do not require the HD pack. However, many other channels do.
