Using mobile as remote

My sky Q remote has broken and I have another ordered but in the mean time I wanted to use my ojone as the remote. In the sky Q and sky go app I should be able to go to Settings, then Devices & access my sky box using my phone which is attached to my account. But the only options is sky then devices is the option to delete my devices. I was on the phone nearly 40 mins with a technician trying to figure out why I can't see that option. I have re installed all the apps again incase it needed updating, but still had no look.

The virtual remote on SKY Go is currently only available for ios devices. - although it is planned for Android it has not yet been released

Yes, under the Sky Go app there's a small icon in the top right-hand side, this is the remote, click on this & it's the same layout as a standard remote.

hi @DiMach6695

This is an old discussion, the android version was updated to include the virtual remote a couple of months or so ago, thus it should be availble for you.

The post above on the 21st April says the Android version was already released back then.

I can assure you I have updated the app and it's still not showing on the My Sky app for android, otherwise I wouldn't have asked.

Is the device connected to the same network as your SKy Q box ?

I am guessing you don't have an old version of android but I probably should ask just in case (I haven't looked up which version it does need )

BTW I realised you wouldn't have asked if you could see it.

@DiMach6695 are you looking on the My Sky app or the Sky Go app as there are no remotes on the MySky app and guessing that was a typo from you but you need the Sky Go app for the remote control
