If your replacement unit has a round multipin power socket, that's a design revision made for the v2 main Q box in 2017 and reverted in 2019 to an IEC C7 ('figure-8') on the v3

Typically a replacement v2 box actually has the correct power supply (with its external transformer block) under the first layer of cardboard where it's really easily overlooked during a rapid doorstep handover.

Power cable

Had a new sky q box delivered this morning as the hard drive on the old one had stopped working. New box delivered within less than 24hrs & the old one taken away, brilliant service. The only problem is that Sky have changed the power connection on the new box & this wasn't supplied with the new box. After being bounced around Sky I've now been Informed that only the engineers have the new cables & I now have to wait for a slot with an engineer but sky won't be able to book that until tomorrow. Why change the power connection if you don't supply the correct lead? I'm now without any sky for however long it takes for an engineer to hand me a new cable!!
