topic Re: Network dropout in Sky Q

With reference to Wired Ethernet: It would be impractical to have wired ethernet cables. My EE router runs without fail. The issue I believe is the Network between the TV and the Sky box. When I go to settings after the Network fails I get a checklist which tells me that the Internet connection/router is working as it should do but the Network connection has failed. I have tried to speak to a Sky engineer but I keep getting a recorded message. Please arrange for me to speak to an Engineer or give me the number. An Engineer would be able to solve this problem I'm sure.

I have an LG Television

I have Sky Q

I have an EE Router with non wired Ethernet connection

I keep losing the Network connection and thereby lose catch up tv, films etc.

If I switch off the power at the wall, wait 2 minutes, switch back on, then everyhing works perfectly for a limited time of around 9 hours before the Network connection is lost.

I then can reinstate the EE router password or switch off at the wall and go through the whole process again.

What is the permanent solution?

Hi @neil+payne1 There is no network connection between the TV and Sky Q box. They are connected by HDMI cable. Note nobody can arrange for you to speak to an engineer on the back of a public community forum post. Telephone numbers are blocked in the community.

Ethernet is, by definition, wired. I assume you mean non-wired network connection, or as the world generally refers to it, a Wi-Fi connection? They are notoriously unstable on Q with non-Sky routers.

You could try switching on the "2.4GHz compatibility" wifi mode that the modern EE routers offer, if it's one of those, and connect the Q to that.
