Update to Netflix Basic at renewal?

I renewed last night online (only just noticed due to renew next day so had to do it quickly). I was previously on the Netflix Basic and was aware that on renewal I would need to take into account the Netflix price changes and thought Basic would no longer be offered. From the forums it seems that people renewing will now only be offered Standard with ads or to pay more without.

I was offered Boost to Netflix Basic (see screenshot) but without info to explain what it meant (info at side just gives period to and from.), so researched quickly (it was late and I was in bed so couldn't spend too long). I didn't come across anything about why Boost to Netflix Basic would be offered now and whether that would now mean ads or without. It wouldn't make sense to be with ads otherwise it would surely tell me that and be called Standard? My understanding from this is that I continue on the same Basic plan (watch on 1 TV without ads). What do you think? There's nothing in my account to give further info.

It must be the equivalent of what is available directly with Netflix - Standard without ads at £12.99? If so it's a better deal. Otherwise with ads is only £5.99.

Hi and thank you for your reply. There is no mention of Netfix Basic though and that's why I'm querying it. My new renewal was 'Boost to Netflix Basic'.

hi @julesls

I have never seen Boost to Basic and I suspect others here also - as per @oldfella 's post the only boost options we know about are Boost to Standard (Ad free) & Boost to Premium

The Basic plan itself is no longer available to new customers and is a legacy level that was replaced with the 'With Ads' tier

You might have to call SKY to determine exactly what the Boost to Basic gives and whether the SKY HD/UHD add ons would have any effect as they used to do.
