Sky q box from car boot sale

I purchased a sky q box from a car boot sale to use it solely as a free view box.

It works great with no viewing card, but some channels. Ask for a PIN because family mode is active by defualt.

Is their any way to remove family mode or get the pin without a viewing card?

All Sky Q boxes are loaned to customers and are owned by Sky. Customers have to return them to Sky on ending their subscription. Any offered for sale are therefore stolen property.

Because Sky Q boxes are loaned to customers for the duration of their subscription and have to be returned to Sky on cancellation.

Are you sure this is a Sky Q box?

That would make sense. There's no Freeview capability on Sky Q boxes without a subscription, let alone a VIewing Card. A Sky+HD box does give you access to the free to air channels without a Viewng Card,

@Cman07 it has to be a q box wont work at all without a valid subscription even for FTA channels

@Cman07 the pin is usually the last four digits of the viewing card number, so without that your stuck as you can't reset it without a card anyway
