I am switching from a Sky plus box to a new sky q box. How do I transfer the saved programmes or keep the old box to be able to watch them? thanks

Programmes recorded and stored on the Sky+ box will be lost. Sky store purchases will be retrievable once Sky Q is set up.

I will cc in one of the other Superusers who has compiled a helpful guide for those thinking of transitioning from Plus to Q which may provide some insight into something you hadn't considered.

You don't

you could record them to a dvd recorder or something if you have something you really don't want to lose
