Volume not working on new Sky Q remote.

I have just set up a new Sky Q remote. All is working apart from the volume. I can get by using a different remote, but any thoughts on how I fix this?

Hi @Alanc4 Just curious how you have set up a new Sky Q remote and the TV volume doesn't work when it specifically asks you to test the volume during the setup procedure. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/setting-up-q-remote

Have you paired the remote to your TV?

(Q has no concept of volume - it's only by telling the remote what TV is connected allows it to send signals direct to the TV)

All I did was press 9 and 7 to unpair the previous remote then press 1 and 3 to pair the new one and that's it. No other directions came my way. All working bar the volume

That 1&3 if it works should also go through a TV setup process

Hi @Alanc4 You probably didn't hold down 1 & 3 long enough. If you don't see the setup instructions on the screen, then you haven't even started the setup process. Pressing down 7 & 9 simply turned it into an IR remote, so it would control any box.

You don't have to unpair. If you pair the remote correctly then it will take you through the setup process of choosing tv...

Sounds sensible, however why it's working other than the volume is puzzling?

Hi @Alanc4 Have a look at my post again. An IR remote will work any box, but only a paired remote will control your TV volume.
