Where's WPS button?

I rebooted my Q Box. Onscreen message tells me to press and hold down WPS button on modem. Sadly my modem has no WPS button. System times out, so what to do next? Fed up.

On your wifi router, not modem (though some are a single box). It will almost certainly have a WPS button. If it's not an old school Sky router, wps won't work though.

Are you sure? Unless it's very old there should be one. Check the sides of the router, as well as the back and front panels.

I am disabled and can't get to it myself. As soon as my wife gets back I will ask her to check it over. The only button so far found is a tiny red recessed button, which reboots the moderm.

Is 12 or 15 years considered as old? Because that is how long we have had it. It was provided by Sky.

The models still in support are:

2013 Sky Hub

2016 Q Hub

2019 Sky Broadband Hub

2023 Max Hub

All of those have WPS buttons somewhere.

Well if they do you might end up with a Max router that works even worse with Q

They will all have the same problem as the sky max router. Lack of integrated Q mesh networking.

I'm sure your current one must have a wps button.

It is on the right hand side of router, on the edge of router.

@CastleDoor if your router is 12 to 15 years old is is more than likely thy Sky hub sr102 does it look like the picture below if it is then the wps button is in the middle of the router on the front with 2 lights abobe it and 2 light below it

If you have the new sky hub, it's a tough one to find on this unit.

I have the same issue but with a Sky router that is the latest version. The WPS button is on the right hand side. Why do the instructions on Sky do not say this when they say "press and hold the WPS button"?

Typically because broadband and television are separate bits of the organisation. Incidentally on a Max Hub, holding in the WPS button acts as a reset (which is an incredibly stupid design choice)
