Uktv channels not working

I have sky q basic package and from what I can see the u channels such as u&dave, u&drama and u&gold were all free to view channels but it's asking me to upgrade my package. Yet some of the u channels work and can watch live and let me record but when I want to watch a recording it tells me to upgrade again

hi @Kirstymuir

I think the following is likely to help with this

As the default download quality is set to HD (high Definition) not SD then when you try to download and watch you are prompted to upgrade (i.e. take out the HD subscription)

You, probably, just need to change your download preference to SD
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

Hi! Thanks for the info I have tried this and still getting the message on U&Gold that I need to upgrade my package

Some UKTV channels like U&Gold and U&Alibi are pay channels, you need a Sky subscription to watch them, even in SD.

Some of the other UKTV channels are free in SD but HD requires subscription.
