Annoyingly Sky can't seem to over-ride what's essentially a completely outdated legacy system for subscription verification through the dish going back to the first days of BSkyB (35 years ago), despite almost all Q boxes being online.

I may look at getting a locala engineer to look at the dish as a 4 week wait is a bit ridiculous.

No Satellite Signal

I gt the dreaded 'No Satelite Signal' message on both my main Sky Q Box and Sky Mini Box on Monday Morning (20th); All cables are fine and there is nothing blocking the aerial. Have been through the steps on the Sky settings and rebooted, but nothing has changed.

I booked an engineer visit but the soonest available was on the 18th of February (4 weeks time!).

My Mini box was still connected to the main box until last night, when I reset the settings on the main box using the 'secret menu' (Settings >001Select).

Now the main box is connected to the internet, but there is still no satelite signal, and both the 'Sky Go' and 'Sky Mini box' options are crossed off - It says 'You don't have the required subscription to use a Sky Q Mini Box'. When I click to 'reactivate' nothin happens.

Currently, I can acess Apps on the main box, but not on the Mini Box. I've tried speaking to Sky via their live chat but I'm unable to get past security (They tell me the details, which have been the same for 8 years are incorrect).

I'm going to call the number ending in 4737 later on today, but was interested to see if anyone else had come across a similar issue?

Unfortunately resetting the main box probably triggered a subscription check, and the verification arrives over the satellite dish.

Ah, I was hoping that wasn't the case.

Update - I called ans spoke to Robert who was very helpful, he's going to raise a ticket and hopefully have an engineer to me before Monday to get this resolved.
