I agree and also find 24 months better for me , however he makes a fair point for those who have a change of circumstance and struggle with the payments .

When I first subscribed to SKY (24 years ago) I was able to have a contract for 12 months which over time changed to 18mths which was ideal. However now there only seems to a 24 mth contract available which does not allow for earlier cancellation without a huge fee if one finds the cost hard to meet in these times of shortage of funds. This amounts to 'sharp practice' where a subscriber is forced to accept the terms which are extremely hard to read.

Hi @narky+wasp I am personally glad it has gone to 24 months. After 35 years, I am fed up of having to negotiate the loyalty tax every 12/18 months. Every 24 months is better.

I'm with you. My contract lock ended in October and they have been calling me. Price goes up again in March but it might be time to review my options.

Sky offer a short term contract option with Sky Stream and contract free with NOW.

If someone is not comfortable signing up for a 24 month commitment then they have the choice not to, albeit on a streaming only service.
