@millldew123 wrote:

After upgrading my SkyQ package to UHD all channels and apps now show in 4K apart from Netflix.

After calling Sky, they confirmed that from mid December 2023 Netflix changed their policies and your Netflix subscription is no longer linked to the Sky HD or UHD package.

Sky offer Netflix standard, Netflix with Booster and Premium Netflix separately.

In order to get UHD Netflix I had to upgrade my Netflix package with Sky to premium for £5 more a month.

Still only £8 a month with discounts in place (£11 per month normally) and after checking out movies in 4K Dolby Vision, it is WELL WORTH it.

I thought I would post here in case anyone else was confused why Netflix didn't upgrade to 4K automatically when upgrading Sky Q to UHD.

Thanks - many people are not aware of the switch & the uplift can come as a bit of a shock - although we do try and advise here if people do post asking.

You are fortunate if you have got the boost to Premium for £5 & base for £3

From Mid December 2023 the new levels/boosts & list prices are :
Netflix (Base level) is the With Ads service - 2 Screens in HD (list cost £4)
Boost to Netflix Standard - 2 Screens in HD Ad free (list price an additional £6 thus £10 in total for Netflix)
Boost to Netflix Premium - 4 Screens up to UHD/HDR (list price an additional £11 thus £15 in total for Netflix)

P.S. When paying via SKY, you still cannot, currently, add the 'extra member' add on for use by family members not in your physical household that is available for those paying directly to Netflix

I also pay for Ultimate TV Pack which I believe is a legacy product that includes Netflix. This is £3.50 including a £1 discount.

So yes total cost for me is actually £11.50 for Netflix.....I think 🙂

Ah, okay, yes It was the app on my TV using the subscription from upgrading via Sky. I think it still works out cheaper than a direct subscription with Netflix but I admit I haven't checked recently.

I believe not all HDR capable TV's are able to et Iplayer in HDR for the same reason

Personally I never use the apps on SKY Q unless it is to test something.

Whilst the apps on Q are convenient for many, the TV apps or on other devices such as Firestick 4K are probably better
